Trailer wiring issue?
Okay, I have a female pigtail on the tow vehicle which i tested with a test light….good to go. I connect the female end to the male pigtail or trailer wiring harness and I have no lights. I checked using the test light to see if power was coming through the connections and yes it is. I created a new and clean ground for the male pigtail using the trailer frame as well. Even if I ground the test light to the trailer I cannot get the test light to work but when I simply attach it to the tow vehicle bumper I get light.
I’m at a loss and frustrated as hell. Ideas
plugs are new so corrosion isnt it. the trailer lights all ground to a central location, checked and also good to go. All wires seem to be golden and in good condition. Still nothing.
Why wouldnt the test light work if it is ground to the trailer. Bu when i ground to the tow vehicle it works.
You have a short in the system. Check all your lights for corrosion or broken wires. Older lights tend to rust through their connections and short out.
